1973 CAR OF THE YEAR

DON LEARMONTH

Don Learmonth has amassed a worthy Leyland P76 collection in a short time. All of these cars have significant history in our Club.

The Crystal White car on the left is the ex Merv Cox - Mike King car so regularly seen all over NZ for many years with both Merv and Mike. This car now must rate as one of the top cars in the club. You will find it featured in many of the activity reports elsewhere on the web site.

The Peel Me a Grape car is the ex Clifton - Mogg - Colin Sweetman car, again shown extensively around South Island events and having ventured north on several occasions. One of the few PMAG cars to now reside in the North Island. This too is a well presented example.

The Crystal White car on the right is the equally well known ex Murray Hatchard - Don Alexander (briefly) car again shown all over NZ especially with Murray and now Mr Learmonth. 2020 saw it appear at the National Rally in Nelson as our first Targa Florio in white, having seen the benefit of significant refurbishment that is ongoing.

Don is a lucky man to have amassed this collection of lovely Leyland's, however, as you will see in his Other cars entries they are far from alone.
