Ann’s Harley Davidson FXDL Lowrider was purchased in 2005 and waited five months for it to arrive from the United States. Ann personally selected the colour scheme of black and old gold which give it a less modern look.
The Harley is her mode of transport to work as well as cruising the coast and hinterlands during weekends. Modifications are few and include new handle bars, highway pegs, a sissy bar and luggage rack. She also wants to put loud pipes on it.
She has dropped it three times and each time has come away worse off than the bike (it weighs 300kg – Ann is only 5 foot and weighs 61kg). The Lowrider is lower to the ground and care must be taken riding over road humps so it does not scrape the underside of the bike. Ann loves the freedom of timelessness and feeling the wind and sun as she cruises to who knows where in this big country.
